Mexico News Daily comment policy

We at Mexico News Daily appreciate your comments, but if you wish to see your well-considered and equally well-informed opinions in digital ink please keep them civil.

We will not tolerate name calling, abuse or harassment, or profane, offensive or inflammatory language. Posts containing any of the above will be removed.

Treat others the way you like to be treated. Be respectful.

The comments section is here to provide a forum for further discussion of the subject of the story beneath which they appear, to add value, to broaden horizons, add insight and promote civil discussion.

If you see a comment you think violates any of our guidelines, please flag it to bring it to our attention. We monitor the comments daily but it’s not something we can do 24 hours a day.

Readers who consistently violate our comments policy will be restricted from commenting.

We shall also delete any comments deemed to be spam or promotional in nature.

A few points to note:

  • Using a Disqus account without a verified email address automatically flags a comment and puts it on hold to await moderation.
  • The same goes for links within comments. We don’t have an issue with them unless they’re inserted for self-promotion.
  • If you’re angry about something you read on Mexico News Daily, cool down before you comment. Emotional stress contributes nothing towards intelligent discourse.
  • If you don’t wish to read comments by a particular reader you can prevent them from appearing. Simply “block user” in the dropdown menu that appears on their comments.
  • Complete guidelines for commenting can be found here.
