The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is hosting a comprehensive cultural series that will run until August 24, 2025, celebrating artistic expression and addressing significant social themes. At the core of the series is the exhibition “A Sky Without Borders. Rosario Castellanos: unpublished archive,” which showcases over 100 personal items that shed light on the literary legacy of the influential writer on the centenary of her birth. Other events include “Traces of Memory,” which tackles the ongoing crisis of disappearances in Mexico through poignant installations, and “Woman Huipil. Warp and Stitches,” which displays over 100 traditional garments that emphasize the cultural importance of textile art among indigenous women.
Participants can take part in workshops like “Embroidery Circle,” where modern embroidery techniques are taught, and enjoy performances such as “Behind Me, of Women and Tangos,” which offer rich narratives on femininity. The series also includes exhibitions like “They Design, 1965–2025
