Historia cultural del color. En la co…
The series of events presents a cultural journey through color and the textile heritage of women in Mexico. The exhibition “Cultural History of Color” explores the understanding of color throughout different eras, covering its origin, composition, and cultural symbolism. In parallel, the joint exhibition “Woman Huipil. Warps and Stitches” and “They design, 1965 – 2025” highlights the rich creative heritage of women, showcasing over 100 huipil costumes representing indigenous identity and the work of 27 influential women in editorial design. Complementing this narrative, “Tixinda: 40 years in defense of the purple snail” offers a journey through the struggle of the Mixtec community of Pinotepa de Don Luis, which seeks to preserve the ancestral dye of the purple snail, highlighting the deep textile knowledge they share. Together, these activities illustrate the impact and legacy of women in art, design, and cultural preservation in Mexico.
