Nopalera en el Corazón
In Mexico City, two evocative exhibitions are taking place that celebrate identity and artistic expression from different perspectives. “Nopalera en el Corazón” is an outdoor exhibition that showcases 51 sculptures in the shape of a prickly pear cactus, each one intervened by various artists and collectives, exploring themes related to Mexican identity, indigenous peoples, and the cultural and natural richness of the country. On the other hand, “Las Reglas del Juego” features over 100 artistic pieces created by psychiatric patients in confinement, where one can appreciate works ranging from cardboard boxes revealing hidden worlds to broken mirrors fragmenting identities and hourglasses frozen in time. Both exhibitions offer a profound look at the cultural richness and complexities of identity in Mexico.
