Mexico, U.S. presidents discuss flood of young migrants

President Peña Nieto and U.S. President Barack Obama spoke yesterday by telephone over the influx of unaccompanied minors who have been crossing the border into the U.S.

Peña Nieto said several Central American countries are now involved in discussing a regional strategy to address the situation. Most of the youngsters are believed to have crossed Mexico from Guatemala and Honduras, fleeing poverty and violence.

It has been described in the U.S. as a humanitarian crisis and some say as many as 90,000 could cross the border this year.
