President Peña Nieto has assumed the presidency pro tempore of the Pacific Alliance, the three-year-old body that brings Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico together for the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor.
The alliance has brought together the presidents of the member countries for a summit in Punta Mita, Nayarit.
Chilean president Michell Bachelet said the alliance has a great opportunity ahead. “Latin America has been capable of progressing . . . but most of the time we have advanced disunited, separate.”
