This Taxco bike ride is a bit of a challenge

Downhill Taxco is two minutes of pure adrenaline

The annual adrenaline event called Downhill Taxco is on this weekend in Guerrero, drawing many thousands of competitors to watch a few dozen brave and crazy mountain bikers race through the alleys and streets of the city famous for its silverwork.

More than 13,000 spectators were expected to attend this year’s event, the sixth annual, and see some 40 invited competitors from eight countries tackle the 1,800 meter route that has a drop of about 300 meters.

The video below provides a view from the perspective of rider Bernardo Cruz. It was shot yesterday with a GoPro camera as Cruz dared the alleys, drops, stairs and jumps that mark the urban downhill mountain bike racecourse.
