In “Para la Libertad,” a group of plastic arts students prepares for a costume party while their dreams face collapse amid political awakening, repression, and the tragedy of Tlatelolco, all underscored by the evocative music of Joan Manuel Serrat. This celebration of love and freedom is complemented by poignant stories in “Ovillo,” which focuses on four women coping with the absence of their migrant loved ones, portraying the emotional toll of migration through their needlework. The collection also includes stirring adaptations such as “El Diario de Ana Frank,” which chronicles the struggles of a Jewish girl hiding during WWII, and “Bodas de Sangre,” a modern reinterpretation of Lorca’s classic where a bride torn between love and tradition navigates societal expectations.
