From June 16 to July 20, 2025, the Open Gallery at Grutas de las Rejas in Chapultepec will host “Beyond Gender,” a photographic project by Rogelio Pereda that immortalizes the experiences of over ten transgender activists in Mexico. This exhibition aims to challenge conventional notions of gender and identity while promoting the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community in Mexico. Additionally, from May 5 to June 8, the same venue will showcase “Urban Midwives, between Heritage and Science,” which addresses historical biases against traditional midwives in Mesoamerica, juxtaposing ancient reverence with modern scientific skepticism.
