In Mexico City, various artistic exhibitions are celebrated that address relevant contemporary themes. The outdoor exhibition “Nopalera en el Corazón” presents 51 nopal sculptures intervened by artists and collectives, exploring Mexican identity, indigenous peoples, and the cultural richness of the country. Simultaneously, the event “Scars of History and Culture” at the MUAC highlights the work of Kader Attia in “A Descent into Paradise,” where themes of cultural resistance are examined through installations and restored African masks. Other proposals such as “The Horizon Always Moves Away” analyze the notion of the contemporary in a geopolitical context, while “The Networks of Dreams” by María José Lavín connects the experience of dreams with death, inviting the viewer to be an active participant. “The Last Train” and “Under the Sign of Saturn” also contribute to the conversation about life and astrological influence in Mexican art.
