Jorgé González Camarena: La Utopía Inacabada
The Palace of Fine Arts Museum (MPBA) and the Jumex Museum, along with the Labor gallery, present exhibitions that pay tribute to the transformation of art and identity in Mexico. “Jorgé González Camarena: The Unfinished Utopia” commemorates the 45th anniversary of the death of the Jalisco painter, reflecting on his prolific career and Mexican muralism. Simultaneously, “Gabriel Orozco: National Polytechnic,” the artist’s first exhibition in Mexico since 2006, invites exploration of time and identity through themes of rotation and symmetry, while “OMEGA” by Pablo Vargas Lugo examines the measurement and complexity of time with evocative works. Additionally, “The Rules of the Game” presents over 100 works by psychiatric patients, reflecting the fragmentation of identities and the freezing of time. Together, these exhibitions offer a profound reflection on artistic practice and the human psyche, establishing unique connections between perceptions of time and identity.
