Saturday 05, 12, 19, and 26 July 2025 | 4:00 PM | Free Entry Centro Cultural José Martí Theater at the Martí | Women Waiting Synopsis: In a maternity ward, Nora, a young postgraduate student, will spend the day engaging in conversation with her two bed neighbors: Cecilia, an indigenous woman, enthusiastic and optimistic, who is expecting her first baby; and Fátima, a mother of two who is about to leave the hospital after an involuntary abortion. Their empathy will allow them to reveal their doubts and regrets, forget prejudices, and think about their decision regarding motherhood. Fátima wonders if she should divorce her detached husband, Nora’s uncertainty grows as she waits for the results that will confirm if her pregnancy will continue or if the abortion was successful, while Cecilia’s delivery becomes complicated in the face of the doctors’ indifference.
