El Rule Cultural Center
The Ministry of Culture of Mexico City, through the El Rule Cultural Center, announces the opening of Amplified, an exhibition and cultural activation project that celebrates the transformative role of women in the sound system, picotera, and sound system culture. This binational initiative is developed by the collective Musas Sonideras (Mexico) and the La Comadre Foundation (Colombia), with the support of the Sura Foundation and Latimpacto.
The exhibition will be available from July 17 to August 31, 2025, and offers a graphic, photographic, and audiovisual look at the territories and contexts in which women live within these cultural movements. It also includes iconic objects from the sound universe and materials produced collectively as part of research carried out in Bogotá, Barranquilla, and Mexico City.
