**Description:** This exhibition focuses on two important cultural manifestations: Urban Midwives, whose role has historically been underestimated by biomedical discourse, and the celebration of 40 years of struggle by the Mixtec community of Pinotepa de Don Luis, Oaxaca, to preserve the ancestral dye of the purple snail (tixinda). Midwifery, recognized in Mesoamerica as a sacred gift, still faces tensions between cultural respect and stigmatization in the contemporary context, being seen both as a sacred practice and as a form of quackery.
