From July 17 to August 30, 2025, the Centro Cultural El Rule in Mexico City will host “Amplificadas,” an exhibition and cultural activation project celebrating the transformative role of women in sound system culture. Developed by the Musas Sonideras collective (Mexico) and Fundación La Comadre (Colombia), this initiative showcases women’s contributions through graphic, photographic, and audiovisual materials, as well as iconic sound objects. The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the cultural heritage of sound systems, facilitating community processes and dialogue from a gender perspective. Alongside the exhibition, a public program will feature workshops, artistic events, and discussions, culminating in a manifesto on intangible cultural heritage. Highlights include the inaugural “Baile Sonidero” on July 17, dance workshops, and a closing dance titled “Estamos cumbiando el mundo” on August 30.
