The events collectively celebrate cultural heritage, human rights, and female empowerment through diverse artistic expressions. Andrew Roberts integrates and critiques neoliberal cultural production by creating multimedia projects that explore late capitalism’s dynamics and cultural archetypes through fictional characters and immersive worlds. “Tixinda: 40 years in defense of the purple snail” documents the Mixtec community’s forty-year struggle to maintain their ancestral dyeing and textile traditions. “Footprints of Memory” poignantly symbolizes the search for missing persons in Mexico, featuring over 300 pairs of used shoes representing families’ yearning, along with engravings and photographs that chronicle disappearances from 1969 to 2024. “Behind me, of women and tangos” is a tango dance piece that examines female experiences, drawing on iconic literary characters—Yerma, Carmen, Julieta, and Lady Macbeth—and their emotional complexities.
