Christmas Concert | La Paz Youth Orchestra Lights Up the Season
The Centro Cultural La Paz invites residents and visitors to a free Founders’ Christmas Concert featuring the La Paz Youth Orchestra under the direction of maestro Luis Peláez García, a showcase designed to celebrate both the holidays and the ensemble’s own origin story. On this special night, the young musicians who helped establish the orchestra return to the stage to perform a program that weaves together classical repertoire, symphonic arrangements of Christmas favorites and seasonal melodies that highlight their technical skill and expressive range.
Set in the cultural heart of La Paz, the concert offers audiences a chance to experience the hall filled with lush orchestral sound, from delicate string passages to full ensemble crescendos that capture the emotion of the season. Families, students, music lovers and holiday travelers are all welcome to settle into the warm, festive atmosphere, where the glow of the decorations and the live performance combine to create a distinctly Baja take on a traditional Christmas concert night.
Beyond its role as a seasonal highlight, the Founders’ Christmas Concert underscores the importance of long‑term investment in youth arts programs, showing what is possible when young people are given the tools and space to grow as performers. By attending, guests not only enjoy an evening of free live music but also lend visible support to the next generation of musicians whose talent is helping to strengthen La Paz’s cultural identity and position the city as an emerging destination for quality performing arts in northwestern Mexico.
