Eugenio Landesio. Las lecciones del Ar…
The exhibition “Eugenio Landesio: The Lessons of Ar…” and “The Impressionist Revolution: From Monet to Matisse” come together to offer a complete view of the development of art in Mexico and Europe. In the context of the renewed educational system promoted in 1843 by the government of Santa Anna, the painter Eugenio Landesio was appointed as a teacher at the Academy of San Carlos, bringing his training in landscape painting from Rome. On the other hand, “The Impressionist Revolution” at the Dallas Museum of Art examines the emergence of Impressionism from 1874, highlighting the break with previous artistic traditions and how artists like Monet and Degas laid the foundations for later avant-garde movements. Both exhibitions celebrate the transformation of art, from education in Mexico to the modern revolution in Europe.
