Grand Christmas Concert | Operatic Holiday Classics with Casa Europa México
The Grand Christmas Concert, presented by Casa Europa México and Operísima México, turns San Miguel de Allende’s historic San Francisco Church into a luminous hall of sound, where classical voice and seasonal music meet in a festive, reverent setting. More than a dozen young singers from Operísima perform beloved Christmas carols and sacred works from Mexico and around the world, their voices carried by the church’s impressive acoustics and accompanied at the piano under the artistic direction of Maestro Rogelio Riojas Nolasco.
Designed as a family-friendly evening, the concert invites audiences to experience the holidays through choral harmonies and solo arias that evoke hope, joy, and togetherness in the heart of the colonial centro. With two nights of performances and tiered seating options, it offers both residents and visitors a refined yet warmly welcoming way to celebrate the season—surrounded by art, architecture, and the shared spirit of Christmas in San Miguel de Allende.

Operísima México, based in San Miguel de Allende and founded by Maestro Rogelio Riojas-Nolasco—an accomplished pianist and vocal coach with over forty years of national and international experience—is dedicated to developing classical singing talent for competitive careers in opera. The studio’s mission centers on equipping artists with advanced skills through workshops that cover the study and perfection of operatic roles, stage movement, and mastery of diction in Italian, French, German, and English. By offering rigorous training and diverse performance opportunities, Operísima México plays a vital role in promoting opera and lyrical arts in Mexico, while supporting singers in their professional and personal growth.
