In 2003, the artist, philosopher, and transgender activist Giuseppe Campuzano (Lima, 1969–2013) created the Travesti Museum of Peru project dedicated to investigating the history of transvestism.
Active since the nineties, Campuzano’s production was characterized by a creative hybridity that was difficult to classify, including the production of academic studies, performances for film and theater, fiction literature, video, photography, installation, actions in public spaces, and multiple forms of political activism.
