The combined event description, “Cultural Narratives and Empowerment in Mexico,” features a series of compelling exhibitions and programs celebrating identity, resilience, and artistic expression. From June 16 to July 20, 2025, the project “Beyond Gender” by photographer Rogelio Pereda presents the testimonies of over ten transgender activists, inviting audiences to reconsider traditional concepts of gender and identity as part of the broader multimedia initiative Mexican LGBTTIQ+ of the 21st century. Concurrently, “The Immaterial World” by Joy Laville runs from May 5 to June 30, 2025, exploring intimate themes through art, encompassing everyday life and personal growth across four thematic sections.
This series continues with “Antonio: Unstoppable Fashion,” honoring fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez and highlighting the Mixtec community’s efforts to preserve the ancestral purple dye from the tixinda snail. Also featured are “The Lionesses,” showcasing the inspiring stories of five women
