Puerto Vallarta’s Fiestas Guadalupanas are a radiant celebration of faith and gratitude, dedicating the first twelve days of December to the Virgin of Guadalupe. The city’s historic center becomes a stage for up to 400 processions—filled with vibrant floats, folkloric dancers, lively mariachi and banda music, and dazzling fireworks. Each evening, these colorful parades wind their way to the altar of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, drawing locals and visitors into the heart of tradition.

On Calle Juárez, bustling street vendors invite everyone to savor classic Mexican antojitos, sweets, and artisan crafts, while families gather to honor the patron saint of Mexico. The highlight comes on December 12, when the “Peregrinación de los Favorecidos” draws upwards of 20,000 people in a display of devotion and collective joy—making it the largest procession of the festival. With deep roots in local identity, the Fiestas Guadalupanas have earned official recognition as Intangible Heritage of the State of Jalisco.

Uniting sacred rituals, festive spirit, and community pride, these celebrations offer an immersive, unforgettable experience—a chance to witness the living tradition that makes Puerto Vallarta’s December glow with meaning and joy.
