According to Mexican and U.S. health authorities, iceberg lettuce from central Mexico is considered safe to eat, with no confirmed evidence connecting it to a recent U.S. Cyclospora parasite outbreak that is the largest in that country’s history, with nearly 2,000 cases already on record. Although the outbreak was circumstantially linked to supplier Taylor Farms, which issued a voluntary recall, U.S. and Mexican health agencies have not found a single verified positive test for Cyclospora in Mexican fields, produce samples or processing facilities.
