Caribbean Logbook: Sounds and Flavors of Venezuela

On Friday, August 14, Instituto Allende Cultural Center offers a full day of Afro-Caribbean Venezuelan culture, combining music and gastronomy in a multidisciplinary format. The program features a 10:00 a.m. master class on Caribbean rhythm, cadence, and flavor by Ángel and José Luis Tolosa; a 7:00 p.m. concert “Sones y Revueltas de Afrocaribe Venezolano” with Ángel Tolosa (harp), José Luis Tolosa (cuatro guitar), and Alonso Hernández (double bass); and a 8:30 p.m. “Sabor del Caribe” dinner with a Venezuelan menu and salsa class.

  • 10:00 a.m.: Master class “Taller de ritmo, cadencia y sabor del Caribe” with Ángel and José Luis Tolosa
