Over three days, the town comes alive with parades, elaborately decorated floats, carnival royalty presentations, live concerts and traditional dances that showcase the joyful, creative spirit of Mexican carnaval against a Sea of Cortez backdrop.

Organizer
The Dirección de Turismo y Economía de Loreto is the official tourism organizer and economic development office for the Pueblo Mágico of Loreto in Baja California Sur. Through its “Turismo Loreto BCS” platforms, the organization promotes the destination’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and local enterprises, while coordinating events such as the Cielo Mágico Astronomical Festival, traditional festivities, art corridors, and initiatives tied to cruise arrivals and sporting events like the Loreto 500. The Malecón de Loreto is a palm‑lined seaside promenade running for about 1–1.5 km along the Sea of Cortez at the edge of downtown Loreto, Baja California Sur, connecting the marina with nearby town beaches such as La Dársena and Oasis. With panoramic views of the Islands of Loreto National Park, marine‑life sculptures, a small lighthouse, benches, and easy access to panga tours, this calm waterfront boardwalk functions as Loreto’s open‑air venue for sunrise walks, evening strolls, community gatherings, and relaxed seaside dining in a low‑key, small‑town atmosphere.
