Live Concert: Oaxacan Guitar Master Gil Gutiérrez at La Biblioteca, San Miguel
Guitarist and composer Gil Gutiérrez performs with friends on Saturday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m. at Teatro Santa Ana inside La Biblioteca Pública, Insurgentes 25, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. A native of Oaxaca who has made San Miguel his long-time home, Gutiérrez has toured South America and Spain alongside artists such as Ana Gabriel, Ricardo Arjona and Pedro Guerra, and his film scores and recordings have earned him a following from the Americas to Europe. Tickets are a 550-peso donation to La Biblioteca, available online.
The concert weaves together jazz, flamenco and son cubano in a program that reflects both Gutiérrez’s Oaxacan roots and the cosmopolitan musical culture of San Miguel de Allende. Teatro Santa Ana is one of the city’s most intimate and beloved performance spaces, making this a curated, high-quality evening ideal for music lovers, expats and cultural travelers who want to experience Mexico’s diverse musical heritage in an authentic colonial setting.
