Magic Touch | One Guitarist, Two Guitars, Infinite Voices
Magic Touch presents guitarist Rafael Flores in a rare solo recital where he performs on two guitars at the same time, creating independent musical lines with each hand like a pianist at the keyboard. With a repertoire that moves from Mexican classics to The Beatles, J. S. Bach and more, the concert blends virtuosity and familiarity, inviting listeners to hear well‑known melodies in a completely new way.
By striking and tapping both instruments with the tips of his fingers, Flores turns technique into a kind of live musical illusion, building harmonies, bass lines and melodies that sound far larger than a single performer on stage. With a 6:00 p.m. start in the Sala Quetzal of La Biblioteca Pública and a 220‑peso donation that supports the library’s work, it is a one‑of‑a‑kind evening in Mexico for anyone curious about the outer limits of the guitar.
