Michelada Festival Hits Puerto Vallarta’s Waterfront
Now in its third edition, PVR Festival de Micheladas 2026 — “La Experiencia Costera de Vallarta” — takes place on Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15 from noon to 11:00 p.m. at Puerto Mágico, the open-air space next to the cruise ship terminal in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. Entry is completely free for visitors 18 and over, with more than 30 exhibitors serving traditional and creative micheladas alongside coastal food stalls offering seafood, grilled meats and Mexican botanas.
The festival doubles as a competition, with bars, restaurants, mixologists and independent vendors competing for the prize of Puerto Vallarta’s best michelada — a beloved Mexican drink that blends beer with tomato, lime, chili and spices — judged across two full days of tastings, live music and DJ sets. For international visitors unfamiliar with michelada culture, this waterfront event offers one of the most accessible and lively introductions to a deeply rooted Mexican culinary tradition, right at the edge of Banderas Bay.
