Tradition and Spectacle at the Corrida de Toros in San Miguel de Allende

121 121 people viewed this event.

One of San Miguel de Allende’s most deeply rooted seasonal traditions returns on Holy Saturday, April 4th, as Plaza de Toros Oriente SMA hosts the Traditional Sábado de Gloria Bullfight from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Recreo 52, Zona Centro. This year’s corrida features three celebrated matadors — Arturo Saldívar, Sergio Flores and Juan Pedro Llaguno — in what promises to be a powerful and ceremonially rich afternoon of one of Mexico’s oldest spectacles, set against the backdrop of one of the country’s most beautiful colonial cities.

Tickets start at $500 pesos and are available from March 25th at Hotel La Morada (Correo #10, Centro), or at the Plaza de Toros box office on the day of the event starting at noon. Whether you are a longtime aficionado or simply curious about this centuries-old cultural tradition, Sábado de Gloria in San Miguel is an experience unlike any other.
