Grammar: Present Tense of Regular Verbs

In Spanish, regular verbs ending in -ar, -er, -ir (like tejer - to weave) are conjugated as follows:

• Yo tejo

• Él/ella teje
• Nosotros tejemos
• Ustedes tejen
• Ellos tejen

Example:

Felipe Juárez: Un tejedor de San Miguel

Felipe Juárez es un tejedor de San Miguel de Allende. Aprendió a tejer cuando era joven, con ayuda de su padre y un amigo. Felipe hace alfombras y ropa usando lana y tintes naturales.

Un día, un incendio destruyó su casa y su taller. Perdió muchas cosas, pero sus amigos le ayudaron. Ahora, Felipe trabaja con su amigo Luis y sigue haciendo alfombras bonitas. Vive en el campo con su familia y le gusta la naturaleza.

Felipe enseña a niños y adultos a tejer. Quiere que más personas aprendan este arte. Cada sábado, vende sus productos en el mercado. Felipe está feliz cuando sus clientes están contentos con las cosas que él hace con sus manos.
