Instituto Vallartense de Cultura

The Instituto Vallartense de Cultura is the public cultural institute of Puerto Vallarta, responsible for preserving the city’s cultural heritage and promoting artistic and cultural development throughout the municipality. From its headquarters on Isla Río Cuale, it coordinates a network of cultural centers—such as Centro Cultural Cuale, Centro Cultural El Pitillal and La Lija—and manages the Local Cultural Agenda, artist and venue registries, festivals, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, and community projects aimed at residents and visitors alike. As an organizer, the institute works to decentralize culture, support local creators, and offer free or low-cost programs in music, visual arts, theater, dance, and traditional crafts, positioning Puerto Vallarta as a dynamic cultural destination on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
