Teatro Ángela Peralta is the principal cultural venue of San Miguel de Allende and the stage that hosts many of the city’s most emblematic events. As an organizer, the theater—managed by the municipal government through the Dirección de Cultura y Tradiciones—programs a wide range of activities including concerts, opera, theater, dance, festivals, civic ceremonies, and community galas, offering a historic, formally equipped space in the heart of the Centro for large-scale artistic and cultural presentations.

Teatro Ángela Peralta, located at Mesones 82 in the heart of San Miguel de Allende’s historic center, is one of Mexico’s most cherished cultural landmarks. Built between 1871 and 1873 and named after the famed Mexican soprano who performed at its inauguration, the theater has served as a venue for zarzuelas, plays, concerts, film screenings, and festivals for over a century. With its elegant Italian-style architecture and ongoing restorations, the theater continues to offer an exceptional stage for music, dance, and performing arts, playing a vital role in the city’s rich artistic tradition and vibrant community life.
