Basic level: Talking about Nature Problems and Simple Actions

Overview: At the basic level, you will learn how to talk about a problem in nature (sargassum on the beach), say where things are, and use very simple present tense sentences. You will also practice basic tourism vocabulary (beach, hotel, tourists) so you can describe what you see on vacation.

La playa y el sargazo

En la costa de Quintana Roo, la playa tiene un gran problema: hay mucho sargazo. Cada mañana, el mar trae algas cafés y la arena está sucia. Los trabajadores de los hoteles limpian la playa y recogen el sargazo con camiones cada día. Los turistas quieren nadar en el mar y ver el agua limpia, pero el sargazo da una mala imagen y huele mal. Una empresa nueva recoge el sargazo y lo usa como material para productos. Así, la playa está más limpia y el problema se convierte en una oportunidad.
